St Philip's Church of England

Controlled Primary School

Week 7

Hello year one

Another bright and sunny Monday morning. I hope you had a lovely weekend.

This week I have uploaded another English focus. If you havent finished with Sidney Spider from last week, carry on and then you can meet Pipperty Skycap.

You will have finished your maths booklets from your folder. So, from now we will be following White Rose Maths online.

Letters and Sounds is the scheme we follow in school for phonics. They have some Lessons up on YouTube for you to follow. A video a day for phonics would be GREAT but dont worry if you need to complete the videos in smaller chunks!

Then finally, this week has a very special day on Friday, so I have got some suggestions of activities to celebrate VE Day.

Keep going with your explorer projects, if you havent finished already! There is some great resources on BBC Bitesize: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zhpchbk

I cannot wait to read them!

Keep smiling,

Miss Ingham

P.S. Look out for the postman or postlady this week! :)

English

* Parents -  I have made a donation on behalf of the class for using the resource.

Phonics

If you can, watch these videos with an adult or an older brother or sister.

Maths

*Parents - We are going to start from 'Summer Term - Week 1 (w/C 20 April)' -Scroll down to the bottom of the page. Just ignore the date, as I think these lessons are very valuable.

Some of the lessons start with a 'Flashback 4' - questions that refer to previous learning. After that, the new lesson begins. The first lesson is on doubling.

I will update the link for each week, however you can work through the lessons at your own pace (children will need supervision for it).

Many thanks!
