  • Our Sponsored Child - Clement Botwey

    Fri 11 Oct 2013

The money raised from the Giant Sleepover at School in July was put to good use in opening the way to the school sponsoring a child in Ghana. Our sponsored child is Clement Botwey who is 7 and lives with his mum and one sibling. This was a School Council initiative and all praise goes to them and all our pupils who have embraced the idea so enthusiastically. Details about Clement and Compassion, the organisation we are working with are overleaf. The sponsorship of Clement will be launched officially at the Harvest Assembly next week.

  • Courses for Parents at St. Philips

    Fri 11 Oct 2013

Mrs. Bostock has asked me to urge parents with some time to spare to take advantage of the three courses Hugh Baird Staff have offered to run at our school.

Each course will last 5 weeks and cover – Basic DIY, Floral Design and Nail Art.

The courses can only take place if we have enough up-take so please do join up and support us in this.

To book a place or get further information please see Mrs. Bostock at school. She is usually on the playground before and after school and can also be contacted by calling into the office.

  • Cook With Chef Day

    Fri 11 Oct 2013

The children had a wonderful time last Friday when two Chefs spent the day in school cooking with our pupils in Years 1 to 4

The hall was set up as a kitchen and every child was provided with an apron and hat and their own workstation to follow instructions and produce some fabulous dishes.

This fantastic event was sponsored and paid for by One Vision as part of their work with schools on healthy lifestyles. We can’t thank them enough for giving St. Philip’s such a wonderful day.

  • Football Match Report: St Philip's 0-3 Rimrose Hope

    Wed 09 Oct 2013

On Tuesday 7th October, Rimrose gave St. Philip's a shock. But all defeats gain experience. Our team pressed into the opposition again and again, everyone played beautifully, but errors and counter attacks proved costly. There were many substitutions but no one could change the game around. It was a match of strength and skill and we had plenty of it. It was just not our day.
