St Philip’s CE Primary School

FOSPA

St Philip’s Primary School are very lucky to have a wonderfully supportive PTFA called FOSPA (Friends of St Philip’s Association). This dedicated and hard-working PTFA are fully supportive of our school and its ever changing needs and we are immensely grateful to them for all of their hard work. For several years they have been doing a phenomenal job raising funds to support our school in driving improvements which benefit all of our children. This is an invaluable support especially now when school budgets are stretched to their absolute limits.

Each year, FOSPA run a series of exciting events which both the children and their families enjoy such as summer and autumn fairs, discos, bingo nights, breakfast with Santa and many, many more. The funds raised are used to provide amenities which the whole school benefit from. For example, the ongoing work to improve our outdoors provision in Early Years has been supported this year by FOSPA, as have our efforts to create a working library in school. It was their fundraising which bought benches for the children to sit on in the yard. But these events bring more than just funds to school, they also help to create a deep sense of community within school, something which is invaluable. For example, it is not just fundraising events that FOSPA organise. The school year always starts with ‘Tissues and Tea’ for the parents of our reception children as they start their educational journey at St Philip’s, helping them to feel supported and to build new friendships.

We are seeking new members to join, so please, if you feel that you could be of any assistance, let someone in school know and you will receive a very warm welcome. It doesn’t matter if you cannot commit to attending all of the meetings, we would appreciate any help and support at the various fundraising events.
